Junior Hellenic Dance Company
( 1999-2018 )

Pavlina Veremi at the National School of Dance adopted a targeted strategy for the education of the students who constitute the pre-professional sections of the School. She began her effort, initially, with auditions in the remote areas of Attica so that selected children from these areas could have access to the official examinations of the National School of Dance. The Training was renewed and included ballet classes according to the Royal Academy of London (RAD) system, the Contemporary Dance with the Matha Graham and Release techniques, and Music and Movement Education with Angeliki Simou (Dalcrose system) as the teaching supervisor.

The choreographer Markella Manoliadis was in charge of the professional classes and the organisation of the Junior Hellenic Dance Company.

The high dance performance of the young students of the Phytorio led to the creation of the Junior Hellenic Dance Company, the small group of the School that has been operating experimentally since 2014. The students, as “complete professionals”, performed in the Black Box theatre, living the experience of the stage and, thus, gaining this valuable skill for their future dance development.
